You could wear your ballet flats (with lightweight socks) with legwarmers over your skinny jeans. I know most people have a strong opinion on legwarmers-either love them or hate them. I like stripey ones. . . and they do keep me warm in the freezing winter:) http://www. urban outfitters. com / urban / catalog / category.

I love wearing short sneaker boots, and I just sorta let my skinny jeans scrunch up on top of them. They're more comfortable than boots but they're still warm, and they do not get ruined in bad weather and you can run into them too. I have these in gray, and I love them, they're my favorite shoes. I'm thinking about buying another pair in purple too: http://www. urban outfitters. com / urban / catalog / product detail. jsp; jsessionid = 206B736053022C4C4B3F1A6FF5DD1BEA. marketing priority,-product. startdate = 4 & & navCount navAction poppush = & color = Moccasins are great for winter too. I wear them all the time, and I actually bought them a size bigger so I can wear an extra pair of socks on with them for when it gets really cold, haha. Just do not buy ones made out of real suede or leather! They're not good for snow. You can find cheap ones at Target. =]

Your skinny jeans would look very chic in ankle boots or those new bootie styles. You can layer 2 such as a fitted tank tops & a fitted sweater, then wear a loose fitting cardigan. After that, try adding a thin belt over the cardigan. I have seen a few women in Manhattan chic wearing this look. They have so wear it with a beret.
