@ Jimarti59 I think new technology in Particular, the multi-track recording, killed off most of the bands. If you think about it, that’s a musician proficient in all instrumentation can record a whole session by themselves. Even Mint Condition, though they do not perform as a band, band-check as a record their album credits. So, a lot of Black musicians had a desire to go mainstream to make more money and get more exposure. The downside is that many of them sacrificed their sound to do it.
Classic! At 52 I realize that our music peaked during this ERA. it will not get any Better. I like Hip Hop and Rap. However musicianship is dead unless its in the Church. What happened to the Self Contained band. Today its all about the solo artist. Bootsy was a part of a Mater Mind with a plan. George must have spawned 6 or 7 acts out of his camp. They all helped each other and look at the results. Where’d U Get Your FUNK From?
@ Gudgeissotolerable That does not make much sense? Playing instruments is not forbidden, DJ’s are just apart of Hip Hop “Pillars” just as any musician. Finding an ACTUAL BAND willing to perform with a rapper is a hard thing to do unless they have a big history with each other like the Roots. Hip Hop is not funk, hip hop is not pop, hip hop is not rock, hip hop is not jazz, hip hop is a mix of EVERYTHING. Do not get confused with gansta rap hip hop either. These guys are just amazing live! I need more
“Stand up” – Bootsy Collins makes it like a Trans Am floating in the streets of FUNK “S” MUSIC MOTHERSHIP. . . CONNECTION IS’HERE. . . MAKE IT REEEAL. NOOO no unbelievers to night – just ’bout to FUNKY FLY AWAY

Glory B Da Funk’s On Me! I love that too damn much!
@ Gudgeissotolerable I hear that hip hop, funk and rap’s offspring are, but that is very false. Hip hop and rap poisoned the good name of funk.
Words, emoticons, exclamation points and can not describe the excitement I feel on this video, so i will not even bother.
I love this
